Digital magazine CityLab analyses issues affecting the large cities of today and the new challenges they face from the points of view of design, environment, transportation, social equity or the lives of their inhabitants. A few months ago it also launched its own audio podcast, Technopolis (available on Apple Podcasts, Google Play and Stitcher), dedicated to analysing the role of technology in cities and its ability to solve more problems than it creates.
The programme is conducted by urban planner Molly Turner, also a professor of urban innovation at the Berkeley Haas School of Business; and Jim Kapsis, climate negotiator for the Obama administration and technology start-up consultant. Some of the topics already discussed include battery-powered cities, the rise of self-driven cars, housing start-ups, food delivery services or robot baristas, among others.
