Places for Culture
The construction of culture exists simultaneously in the past, present and future. Since the beginning of time humans have engaged in diverse activities to express what it means to be alive both as a society and as individuals. Culture is built through the superimposition of different eras, preserving history and at the same time giving voice to the present, and imagining the future. The city is the scenario for specific places for culture such as museums, theatres and libraries, as well as public spaces where expressions of spontaneous and popular culture take place. Creating these places has always been an essential theme for architects, designers, urbanists and artists and will continue to be now and in the future.
