- Updated Inspiration
Please Sit is an installation of reimagined chairs that invites the public to experience Fenton House, a luxurious 17th-century residence in London’s affluent Hampstead neighbourhood. Designers Gitta Gschwendtner, Michael Marriott, Maisie Broadhead, Nina Tolstrup, Frith Kerr and Carl Clerkin have each produced a chair inspired by the palace interiors, antique ornaments and furnishings. The installation challenges notions of luxury and taste, while its interactive nature offers visitors a different experience of National Trust properties, where touching furnishings is typically restricted. Please Sit opened as part of the 2019 London Design Festival and runs until May 4th, 2020.
