The New York based tech company Grouphug has called on designers and creatives to devise solutions for a more sustainable future in order to tackle the current excess of consumerism in terms of energy, food or materials. The most outstanding proposals will be gathered in the Renew Me exhibition, which they will be presenting during the NYCxDesign Week as producers and curators of the event.

The proposal aims to question the current consumption model and invites to reflect on this subject in order to move towards more sustainable options in these particular areas, through the creation of products, prototypes, wearable devices, mobile apps, web concepts, etc. The idea is to challenge designers to solve environmental problems by instigating a change in consumer habits and consumerism through stylish products that are also easy to integrate into everyday life.

The best ideas will be on show from May 10 to 12 at Brooklyn’s Usagi Gallery, New York, in an exhibition open to the public.
